Dr. Nellie Deutsch, an educational technologist and social networking expert with a doctorate in educational leadership with a specialization in curriculum and instruction founded Integrating Technology in 2006. The aim of the of the organization was to provide free online professional development workshops for educators around the world. The community grew as more and more teachers found value in taking workshops with an international population. In 2009, Integrating Technology changed its name to Integrating Technology for Active Lifelong Learning or IT4ALL for short. Dariem Garces a Moodle developer and computer engineer, who had been supporting Nellie in her work with Moodle since 2005, joined the team as the organization's technology expert. Dariem manages the server and the Moodle websites for Integrating Technology Hosting and Consulting Services (ITHCS), a partner of IT4ALL. Today, IT4ALL is a huge network with followers and graduates of Moodle for Teacher (M4T) workshops. The members of IT4ALL are the ones contributing to the success of the workshops and the learning community.
The workshops at IT4ALL are facilitated by educators who follow a relationship-based collaborative learning approach where participants become active learners. Active learning goes beyond acitive participation as both teachers and students learn through teaching. The rationale behind active learning is that teachers are expert learners who can facilitate the process of learning.
IT4ALL will be featuring exciting free (scholarships) and low cost (from $10) e-learning workshops and courses on how to integrate technology into your classes to improve instruction and learning. Participants who complete the workshops successfully may receive a certificate of completion for a fee of $30. You are invited to enroll in the workshops available, suggest new courses, create courses of your own, add comments, and ask questions. To access what IT4ALL has to offer, please click on the headings on the top bar of this and other pages of the website.
Scholarships are available for most of the professional development workshops at IT4ALL. The network is self-funded by Dr. Nellie Deutsch. If you would like to show your appreciation, you are invited to make a donation by clicking on Donations on the menu bar on top.
